We had 2 1/2 days in the desert near Mojave at Red Rock Canyon. No cell coverage, no internet, no electricity, and no TV. It was a small and very quiet campground. We hiked to the tops of peaks during the day, saw beautiful rock formations, played games at night by lantern, and listened to the coyotes as we fell asleep.

California is full of many different environments. We went from the desert, through rolling green mountains (couldn't stop for pictures but think of The Sound of Music), through farmland, orchards and dairies to a level lakeside site in a matter of 2 1/2 hours! What a difference a day makes!

Looks like it's snowing fruit tree blooms!

A bevy of American Coots alongside the camper.
I believe this is a wood stork.

Sunrise out the camper window.
Our campsite from across the inlet.

I hope this is the beginning of a wildflower super bloom!
